I got the 190x with a standard 3 point adjusting head. I almost opted for the carbon fiber model, but it almost doubled the price of the tripod alone, and only shed 1 lbof weight. I love the interchagable heads, no need to buy multiple tripods.

I'm reading back over this post and picked up something I passed by earlier. I should at least be using the timer for my pics. Woop Woop!
I love sushi! Is that strange?

I use a wireless remote shutter release. However, I wouldn't recommend it, for most. I use it, because it came with my Rebel Xt, when I purchased it, used. There are 2 downfalls, to it's use though.

    1. It works off of IR and the IR receive is located at the front of Canon cameras. Because of this, you can't stand behind the camera and use it. You don't have to be directly in front of it, but have to be at least off to the side, on the shutter side of the camera.

    2. I'm constantly forgetting to turn it off, and then when I do need it, the batteries are dead...lol. It takes a small calculator battery, that will last a very long time, IF you remember to turn it off.

One thing that is cool about it is that it can work instantly, or a 2 second delay, or if your camera is set to Bulb, it'll work with any delay you have set, on your camera. It also has the ability to take very long exposures, by pushing the button once, to open the shutter, and pushing it a second time, to close the shutter, no matter how long it is. I've taken 30 minute exposures, with it, of stars, before.

Eventually, I plan to purchase a tethered shutter release. The longer, the better!
