Tell us about yourself:

My name is Charisse Recinos, I live in Puyallup Wa. I'm a mother of two little boys, one is 4 years old and the other is 1 year and 9 months. I'm 26 years old, I have a loving husband named Luis who always supports me in everything that makes me happy which is buying corals (lol). I was born in the Phillipines.. and I am so happy that I got into this hobby... :)

How did you get involved in the saltwater hobby?

It's along story...I started out with a 1 gallon freshwater tank which I bought off cragslist, comes with 6 tigerbarbs with everything for 5 bucks. I was so happy that time... then I upgrade and upgrade, my biggest freshwater tank then was just a 12gal... I always keep looking at you tube, all about fish tanks and I came across this cool puffer fish (mirius puffer). It buries itself in the sand and just waits for prey. I want to buy it so bad but my husband said no because it cost $60. So I said can I get a saltwater tank as I have been seeing this nano tank. So I started out with a bio cube 14gal. I bought a 5 gal hex saltwater tank off craigslist again for $100 which includes live rock, yellow watchman goby, purple urchin and corl banded shrimp. So yes thats where everything started and now my husband regrets not buying me a puffer fish. LOL

How did you become involved with Reef Frontiers?

I found out about Reef Frontiers when I bought a used 24 gal aquapod with sunpod from a very nice couple who live so far away. I don't remember their faces but they are a member too. I would really love to meet them again and thank them because if it wasnt for them I'm would not know about this wonderful site.

What is your reef keeping philosophy?

Love your corals and fish as they will love you back...

What is your dream tank?

A shallow tank, like 200 gal? full of colorful colonies of zoos and eye popping colorful LPS.

Do you have any advice for others?

Every time you feed say grow
Every time you look at them tell how beautiful they are
Every time you knock corals say sorry
Every time you clean the tank and do water change tell them its good for them
Every time you frag them and sell, tell them youre doing it to buy them a new friend LOL
Talk to your corals, they will listen :)
