Tell us about yourself:

My name is Matthew Montgomery. I'm 34 years and live here in Seattle with my partner. We've lived in Seattle for the past 6 years and love the city and see ourselves staying here for quite sometime. We have one cat and one dog. Sophie, our chow is one year old and a great companion. We also have Ms. Meow who is a 6 year old Bengal cat and she's a character. I am retired and enjoy staying at home remodeling our house. My other hobbies include computers, travel, cooking, reading as well as saltwater tanks.

How did you get involved in the saltwater hobby?

I first got involved in the saltwater hobby when I was 16 years old. It all started when I visited a pet store and saw this amazing saltwater tank full of amazing colorful fish. Every since then I've been hooked. I've been in and out of the hobby over the past 18 years.

Tell us about your tank

Actually my current tank is a 24 gallon Aquapod nano tank. It has a 150 watt Phoenix 14k DE fixture. Inhabitants include a pair of Golden stripe Maroon clowns with their rose bubble. I also have 2 sun corals along with some blastos. It's mainly a tank for my Maroon clowns.

In the past I've had a 125 gallon SPS dominated tank as well as a 60 gallon SPS tank.

How did you become involved with Reef Frontiers?

Oh it originally started way back when I was involved in PSAS about 4 years ago. When Reef Frontiers first came online I joined and I think I'm user #63 so I've seen it grow quite a bit.

What is your reef keeping philosophy?

Keep things simple and give things ample time to mature. Treat fellow reefers with respect and trade often! :)

What is your dream tank?

Right now it's a 24 gallon Aquapod but that could change any day. :)

Do you have any advice for others?

Never been afraid to ask questions but also make sure to research on your own. There is a ton of information out there so be careful on what you take as gospel.

Feel free to Private Message Matt with any questions or comments. Thanks again for your terrific support of Reef Frontiers Matt.
