Tell us about yourself:

My name is Adam Ungaro, I live in Tacoma Wa. I am Married, and am the proud parent of three children ages 11 (boy) 8 (girl) and 5 (boy). I am 5'6", (sawed off, LOL) 33 years old, born in Enumclaw Wa. I am a manager of a large foundation company FOUNDATION SPECIALISTS. I was in the Navy in the late 90's, and have also worked as a Commercial Fisherman in Southeast Alaska for three different summers. I have played the drums for 20 years and also am an artist, ie: painting, drawing. I also am addicted to TATTOOS, TOOL (the band), MMA, Leopard geckos, and Saltwater fishtanks. *and Reef Frontiers*. I also just started doing some summer lake activitys a few years back and love it! I have always found happiness in makeing others laugh.

How did you get involved in the saltwater hobby?

I've always liked fish tanks and my wife has always wanted one. I got started in Saltwater tanks by actually WINNING my 29 gallon AGA saltwater set up from a raffle at WILDSIDE in Puyallup in June of 2008. I used to go there twice a week for food for my geckos and dog. It was a BASIC saltwater set up, standard light, crushed coral, heater, a bag of salt, a basic AGI test kit, and a plastic hydrometer. That is still my tank, but I have changed almost EVERYTHING except the heater, tank, and stand. And have gotten corals from lots of nice people on this forum. I could name them all but would take me all day. There are so many of you that have helped me out. Thank you to all of you.

Tell us about your tank

My tank now is a AGA 29 galloon.
I built a hood to house my 250 MH, PC's, fans, and moon lights. I have a big sump right now. A modded 55 gallon with three chambers. Using it to seed 50lbs of live rock for my 125 that Jason from WCA is gonna build for me.
I have:

4 fish: one small yelow tang, two PJ cardinals, one clown goby
one cleaner shrimp
one peppermint shrimp
8 assorted hermit crabs
1 emerald crab
10 snails
ZOOS
7 assorted LPS
mutiple assorted softies.
In my fuge section of my sump, I have a coral banded shrimp, a DSB, assorted benificial algae and lots of live rock.

How did you become involved with Reef Frontiers?

I found out about Reef Frontiers from KRISFAL when I bought her 55 gallon sump. Local reefers sounded good to me. After I came and joined here, I learned that evryone here is sooo helpfull and kind, I realized I have found my new "cyber home".

What is your reef keeping philosophy?

I don't think I am experianced enough to have a real philosophy. But if I was asked I would have to say, "Take your time and keep your hands dry."

What is your dream tank?

My real dream tank would have to be a 300 gallon, shallow (20" tall) full walk around, REEF tank. but I dont have room for that nor the $$$.

Do you have any advice for others?

If I was to give anyone advice about keeping a saltwater tank, " Learn from other peoples mistakes so you don't make the same ones."
