Tell us about yourself:

I'm Willie! I am 51 years old live in Tacoma and married to a wonderful woman (Erika) and a splendid and VERY bright 6 year old daughter (Kai). For all the oldies out there you KNOW I don't dote on her too much. LOL

I am a Executive Chef in the healthcare business. Besides my reef I also like gardening, bass fishing, and REALLY good microbrews.

How did you get involved in the saltwater hobby?

Well this will date me! I have kept fish since 1963...and it just progressed until 1982 when I got my first saltwater tank (45 gallons)...ready for this?....undergravel filters (what was flow?) no live rock Standard florescent bulbs, and this state of the art skimmer about 12" tall and a single wooden airstone.

Tell us about your tank

It's a 24" 60 gallon cube, starphire glass, baby Luminarc reflector with a SE 250 watt radium bulb powered by a HQI ballast, Oceanic sump, Coralife calcium reactor (don't laugh...it has served me flawlessly for over 2 years. Well, on second thought it's o.k. to snicker.) I run a SWC 200 extreme skimmer which is the BEST skimmer I have ever owned! Okay..Okay.. I know I am getting long winded here, wrap it up! For flow I have the old school eco tech mp-40 with a mag 5 return pump.

The tank is mostly SPS with a yuma over here and a zoo thrown in there.

How did you become involved with Reef Frontiers?

One word ..... GOOGLE!

What is your reef keeping philosophy?

S-L-O-W-L-Y (google Macy Gray! LOL) But really take your time..save your money and get good quality equipment...then just wait! Like myteemouse says in his sig "Keep your hands dry!!" LOL

What is your dream tank?

This is my dream tank...I really don't have much time (or space!) for anything bigger.

Do you have any advice for others?
