      Scientific Name: Meiacanthus lineatus
      Max. size: 9.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
      Environment: reef-associated; marine
      Climate: subtropical Distribution: Western Pacific = known only from the Great Barrier Reef.
      Biology: Mimicked by Petroscirtes fallax and by the young Scolopsis bilineatus. Poisonous canines provide considerable protection from predators
      Aquarium Care: Provide plenty of live rock. This species has the ability to bite the inside of a predator's mouth with its venomous fangs when ingested. The predator will then spit the small fish out of its mouth with no harm done to the blenny.
