      Scientific Name: Chromis caudalis
      Max. size: 7.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
      Environment: reef-associated; non-migratory; marine; depth range 15 - 55m
      Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Christmas Island in the eastern Indian Ocean to Indonesia and the Solomon Islands, north to the Philippines; Palau (Belau) to Pohnpei in Micronesia.
      Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-14; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 12-13. Inner side of the pectoral fin base is deep blue.
      Biology: Found around ledges and the bases of small caves of steep outer reef slopes. Occurs in small groups that remain close to shelter
      Aquarium Care:These are schooling and peaceful damselfishes, and basically an open water feeder. They should be kept in schools/shoals of three or more. Feed a varied diet a few times daily. Meaty foods such as vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, flake foods high in vegetable matter, and other quality frozen foods are the preferred foodstuffs.
