      Distribution: Western Pacific: ranges from the Philippines to Melanesia and eastern Australia. Also Yaeyama Islands.
      Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 8-9
      Biology: Lives among branching and encrusting corals in lagoon reefs at depths of 10 or more
      Aquarium Care: Has a temperature range of 72 - 83°F (22 - 28°C). Natural diet consists mainly of zooplankton. Requires a meaty diet, i.e., enriched brine shrimp, mysis, finely chopped fish or shrimp flesh, and other various frozen carnivore foods, with one or two feedings per day. They should not be housed with aggressive fishes such as groupers, dottybacks, triggerfishes or aggressive angelfishes. Rarely seen and the trade.
