      Scientific Name:Pseudobalistes fuscus
      Max. size: 55.0 cm TL (male/unsexed)
      Environment: reef-associated; marine ; depth range - 50 m
      Distribution:Indo-Pacific: Red Sea south to Durban, South Africa and east to the Society Islands, north to southern Japan, south to the southern Great Barrier Reef in Australia and New Caledonia; throughout Micronesia. Uncommon in the Pacific.
      Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-27; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 19-24. Dark brown, scales with yellow spot; pectoral, soft dorsal, anal and caudal fins dark with yellow margins; juveniles yellowish brown with bluish grey spots and blotches. Juveniles under about 5 cm, tan with dark saddles and numerous dark wavy lines on the body. Larger juveniles loose the dark saddles and become covered in a network of brilliant blue lines which become increasingly interconnected with growth.
      Biology: Occur in clear shallow lagoons and seaward reefs; sandy areas near reef patches of reef edge are preferred. Feed on sea urchins, crustaceans, mollusks, dead fish, tunicates or corals. Oviparous
      Aquarium Care:Has a temperature range of 72 - 81°F (22 - 27°C) and has a natural diet of zooplankton, small fishes, and benthic invertebrate. Requires a meaty diet, including fortified brine shrimp, mysis, chopped fish or shrimp flesh, and meaty type frozen carnivore foods with two or three feedings per day. Has a habit of blowing away sand to expose benthic invertebrate. Extremely aggressive and very possibly should only be housed with own family members. May blow jests of water into the sand in search of prey, and will probably rearrange aquarium décor. Will eat corals
