      Scientific Name: Synchiropus morrisoni

      Environment: reef-associated; marine; depth range 12 - 33 m
      Climate: tropical; 24 - 26°C
      Distribution: Western Pacific: Japan to Australia and eastward to Fiji; throughout Micronesia.
      Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 7. Body with numerous round spots. Males identified by striped dorsal fin.
      Biology: Occurs in algal covered rocks of seaward reefs; rarely in less than 25 m in most coral reef areas
      Aquarium Care: As with other members of the genus Synchiropus, this species is challenging to feed, and should be introduced into a well-established, peaceful, and mature reef tank. Provide plenty of live substrate (rock and sand), and a productive refugium.
