      Environment: reef-associated; marine ; depth range 2 - 20 m
Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: known only from Dhofar and Masirah Island, Oman.

Aquarium Care:fine as juveniles for the reef aquarium. Yet they grow destructive with age and are too big as adults, even for the average fish-only aquarium. They prefer bottom areas of fine sand, and spend much of their time turning over rock and coral rubble searching for small crustaceans. They bury themselves at night.
