Description: Iwaki Walchem magnetic drive pumps are an excellent choice for aquaculture applications, aquariums, and industrial process applications because they are very efficient, extremely quiet, and transfer minimal motor heat to the water. The motors are UL-approved TEFC-type with built-in thermal protectors. Liquid ends are constructed of polypropylene. Pumps can be mounted vertically or horizontally, outlets are adjustable directionally. 115V/60 Hz with 6' power cord. One year warranty. Mfg. Part No. - WMD30RLXT, Amps - 1.0, Inlet/Outlet MNPT - 1". Do not exceed maximum head, as non-warranty pump failure can occur.

      Pros: Awesome Pump
      Cons:

I love these pumps. They are super quiet if you set them up correctly. They have a lifespan of years. I've had the same one for about 7 years. As long as you don't get them wet they stay very quiet . Even if they get wet they still run. They don't add much heat to your tank like the Gen-X pump does. A great pump for the price.

Pros: pumps until the cows come home
      Cons: extremely loud

I thought my Iwaki 55 was the king of pumps, but had to pull it off my tank after only 1 month. It was so loud out in the living room, I could lay in bed and feel it through the mattress . It is an expensive paperweight in my closet now. I emailed Iwaki and got great response, but they wanted to refit it for the price of a new pump instead of standing by their product. Took the wind out of my sails for buying on the internet too. Replaced it with a Velocity T4, so quiet I kept checking to see if it was actually running. Now, 2 years later, the Velocity is slowing down despite regular cleaning. Thinking of a big Gorman Rupp (I already have a little one I love).
