Description: Designed to remove suspended solids (those little food and waste particles that neither float nor sink) from aquaculture water. Dirty water is directed up through the threaded inlet into the bead chamber which is filled with electrostatically charged beads that have an affinity for, and therefore trap, suspended solids. The filtered water then travels up and out of the bead filter by gravity. Air is used to backwash and clean the beads at least once daily. This requires 10 cfm at 2 psi. 90 gallons of water is discharged at each cleaning. (Support stand not included.) Beads are included. Made out of fiberglass with smooth white gel coat interior. Ships motor freight. Manual back-flushing dumps only a single filter volume and takes only one minute, using low pressure (less than 1 CFM) air to tumble the beads (not included). The ABF1, rated up to 20 gpm, is molded in semitransparent polyethylene. Easily disassembled for cleaning. Sold complete with required screens, valves, piping, beads, and instructions. A mounting support ring is also included. Ports are 1-1/2 in. A 55 lb. (1.65 cu. ft.) bag of replacement beads is enough for two changes. Made in USA. 24 in. diameter x 36 in. tall.
