Pros: Must be skims OK. Nitrates are 0-10.
Cons: Needs lots of tinkering. Pump life.

The impellar corrodes too quickly in the Accella pump (which I've found out is made by JBJ which I think stands for junk by jack###es). Had to order a new pump after around 9 months. Luckily they're cheap. When I get it dialed in it runs great. After I clean it, it takes a lot of fine tuning to get it dialed in again. Also the air inlet clogs (which seems to be normal for all of these kinds of skimmers) but again, after you clean it, it's a PITA to get running again. For the price there are better products out there. It used to be about the best cheap HOT you could get, but all the other manf are getting wise to the HOT market and are making superior products. Even CPR put out a new one that's better.

      Pros: cheap, skimz, bubble trap
Cons: loud, fragile HOB legs, needs constant attention

I paid $100 for mine when i started this hobby. It was my 1st real skimmer. It did produce skimmate however it was louder than god knows wat and was a pita to tune...
