Description: The Bullet #1 is the youngest brother of the Bullet Line. Make no mistake, while it’s the smallest, it’s an ornery little skimmer. Efficient to 150g, we challenge you to find a more efficient skimmer built like this one for the money. Can you say.... “value?” Check out the specs and images below.

      Overall Height - 20”

      Base Dimensions - 5.25”x 9”

      Inlet Size - 1” Barb

      Outlet Size - 1.25” FPT

      Pump Recommendations - Sedra 9000, 12000, MAG12

      Capacity - 150g

*Note: Unlike most of our competitors, Precision Marine is realistic when rating the capacity of our components. Consider what you are putting into your tank and use your best judgment.

Pros: Very high quality construction, support and documentation
Cons: The air intake muffler clogs easily and the skimmer is rather noisy without it

I replaced my original Red Sea Classic Berlin skimmer with some basic mods with the Bullet-1 on my 300 gallon SPS & LPS reef. My reef is almost 10 years old and is way overstocked with large tangs.

Precision Marine definitely under rates this skimmer at 150 gallons as it has no problems at all keeping up with the bio-load in my system.

I experimented with a number of pumps ranging from a RIO 3100 to a MAG-18. I found that the skimmer performs exactly how Precision Marine has documented, so I would suggest that you follow their guidance to the letter.

This skimmer is pulling out around 32 Oz of dark skimmate everyday.

The Bullet-1 is not as finicky to adjust as some say it is. The truth is, that it so easy to adjust it to produce dry or wet foam you tend to try many different settings to see their affects on your water parameters. Once you setup the skimmer and choose your bubble size by adjusting the air intake valve it will not require any adjustments to keep performance consistent.

The optional gate valve is a must have as you will go insane trying to adjust this skimmer without it. Make sure you have no air leaks by closing the air valve all the way and checking that there are no bubbles in the reaction chamber perform adjusting the skimmer, then just sit back and watch your water quality improve.
