Pros: Easy to assemble and use, good tech support, quality construction, easy to clean (so far), can be used with a variety of lower powered pumps (about 500gph) which increases contact time
Cons: Haven't found any cons yet besides that the output has to be above water level. Will see how it performs when I add some bioload

After having my tank up and running for 3-4 weeks during the cycling process, my old skimmer stopped producing anything. I though it was because I didn't have any load (no fish) and that it had removed all of the bad stuff. However, I decided to change the skimmer anyway and after a 2 day break in period, it started producing waste. I got another collection cup full before it stopped. So I decided to add a piece of rock to the tank just to see what would happen...1 1/2 - 2 hrs later the skimmer went crazy and started pushing out junk again!!! Can't wait to see how it works under a real bio-load!!

Pros: small footprint, foams right away!
Cons: Have to tune it every week or so, output has to be above water level in sump so it's a little noisy.

Not a top of the line skimmer but does a pretty decent job for what I paid for it. Didn't come with a pump. I run it with a Mag drive 5.
