they are more like guidelines, and everyone says something different. I have heard somewhere between 10-15x for lps and softies and 15-20x for sps but whatever floats your boat works too haha

    Love the aqauscape Matt!

What did you use to hold it all together?
    Gravity or something more?

I've recently ordered 75 lbs of Marco Rocks for my 120 and I'll be playing with the 'scape on that when it arrives.....
Still trying to determine the best method for what I'm looking to do.

    great question!

I really took my time with this and researched methods..
I use 3/8'' acrylic rod and a 3/8'' masonry drill bit.. its all "bolted/rodded" together..
I built the aqua scape's on a tarp on my floor and labeled the rocks numerically while photographing each phase so I didn't get confused trying to rebuild it in the tank... it was difficult but worth it!!!
the rocks are flexible but stable!!!

    cheers!
    Matt

I also used the rule of thirds and Depth of field.. smaller rock up front gradually to larger taller in the back...
