    setting up a wavemaker

just a quick question. I going to be using a dual powerhead wave system on my nano 20 and was just wanting to know is it better to mount them higher in the tank directly opposing each other or one high and one low or I have also seen them on the same side of the tank. I have not used this type of set up before my last tank just had 2 powerheads on opposite sides of the tank on full time. any input would be great or a link to a write up that would help. I cant seem to find one

I have my RW4's on opposite ends, little above mid-level, one up front and one in back. I get great wave action and zero dead areas.
A lot depends on your rock scape.

That makes sense. How long of a pulse do you use. I've been playing around with mine but with just Rock and sand its hard to see the effect it has on flow . I almost think the 500gph power heads might be to small . But should do for now. Budget was getting tight on the build

You could take a few straws tie a 2-4" piece of yarn on the ends and stick the straws around your rock work. Worked for me

I ran my rw's on random mode i think it was. I would.do both or at least one on the back wall opposite sides. One low or mid level and one higher. You can also place the opposing powerhead on a side panel mid level.
Play with it. Just dont place coral directly in front of a blast of water and u will be okay. O....and keep the water in the tank
