    Here I am again!!!

Hmmm, it always seems that my DIY's cost more........ Maybe bad planning, or bad craftsmanship, but when ever my wife hears me say "I CAN BUILD THAT" she runs out and buys one.

supplement levels good but Ph still low...

I just open my windows and doors long enough to let some fresh air in. I live in Arizona so I have the opposite during the summer my house is closed up tight. For the first month I watched as my PH kept getting lower and lower, then I started opening my doors for 10 minutes just to get a fresh...

supplement levels good but Ph still low...

Input into the skimmer is the best way of fixing this, which means that a permanent line would have to be installed. Or open the house for a few minutes a day just to refresh the oxygen levels.

supplement levels good but Ph still low...

Boomer is riht, as you guys start to close your windows and running the heater, the CO2 in your house raises, as the surface of your water exchanges oxygen it also pulls in this CO2. As we all know CO2 lowers your ph just like we do in a calcium reactor. Try taking a bowl of your tank water test...

Remote XD Sand Bed in a bucket

One more question, I know that it should be painted to block light, but should it be closed. I was thinking with the added surface area it would cause a lot more evaporation?

Remote XD Sand Bed in a bucket

So if you were to have one of your drain lines from the tank feed into a 4 ft long 8 inch deep by 6 inch wide channel, would this be efficient at removing the waste for a 180 gallon tank. Then this channel could drain right back into the sump area, with the rest of the filtration. The reason I...

Get the word out! This site SHOULD NOT DIE!!!

This is definitely where my addiction started, lots of good times. I miss the get togethers, and comradarie. Everyone was willing to help, and offered to help as much as they could. For me, that was what I needed. I asked questions, then asked more questions.

    Need some advice

Awesome, I think I have found my pump. Now, I get to redo my sump area and lots of plumbing. With that being said, I sure miss you guys up there. Ever since I moved to Phoenix, he clubs down here do not seem to share the warm hobbyist, friendly atmosphere. It seems to be mostly business down here.

    Need some advice

I looked into the fluval 6, it seems like a great pump. Was wondering what your thoughts were on a slower flow refugium. To me it makes sense that you have more contact time, and the skimmer would also have more time to process. I was always under the assumption that higher flow at least 20x...

    Need some advice

Reeflo tried and true. And you went with the dart/snapper hybrid? I know that the reeflo pumps are excellent pumps, I just wish that they were a little more energy efficient. In the end I will probably end up with the reeflo. Thanks for the help.
