    500 Gallon SPS Dominant Zeovit

Just some random thoughts, I'd first make sure what ever your using to supplement alk is working properly. Also, consider the addition of alk, if any the water changes were adding. I had a similar issue with the 47 when I had an explosion of coralline while I was away for 6 days.

    500 Gallon SPS Dominant Zeovit

Looking great, Wayne. The par meter is going to cost you a visit to check out the tanks. ;-) Wait!!!! Is that Flight 370 in your tank?

Thanks Wayne. I actually lost the Naokoae wrasse. It took about 2 weeks for the Royal flasher to acclimate and start coming out and explorering. Once that happened the Naokoae start hiding more and more until he disappeared. I always seem to pick the meanest fish. When I added the 6 Bartletts...

    Identification and treatment for PBT

Baking soda (Sodium Bicarb) or Sodium carbonate is fine. Also, make sure temp matches. I always calibrate my pH meter right before using it to test the freshwater for dipping.

Not saying this is what you're dealing with. But, worth searching marine flukes, Gyrodactylus spp.

Chevron Tang Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis not eating

Looks like PE Mysis did the trick. I'm just not sure that's going to be good long term. Next feeding I'll try mixing in some nori and pellets soaked in garlic.

Haven't tried Garlic but did try nori soaked in Selcon. Stacy I did that. He didn't pay any attention to it. I left it in he tank about an hour. Then pulled it out and broke it up but still nothing.

Yes new fish. Went throught a fresh water dip and a two part "Safety Stop" dip. Fish acclimated very well and was very active from the start.

Chevron Tang Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis not eating

It's only been two days. But, I haven't seen him eat yet. I've tried black worms, enriched mysis, nori, and pellets for herbivors. He will run up to the pieces like he's about to eat it then backs off. I have seem him picking at the brown dusting on the back glass but that's it. Going to my LFS...

What are you watching in your tank?

I'm keeping an eye on my Naokoae wrasse. He has a lot of character. http://youtu.be/YyRkauSHtN4

    First time drilling tank!

Go slow! I let the weight of the drill push the bit through. Use lots of water to reduce heat. Speed and heat are your enemy. It might be worth while finding a cheap beat up aquarium to practice on.

Correction on my ID of the "Blue Flasher". It is actually a Paracheilinus angulatus or one common name is a Royal Flasher. That's what I get for trying to ID it myself.

Thanks. Looks like he's getting more comfortable. Should be out in some better light over the next couple days. Haven't noticed any growth. I'm attaching it to a rock today. I've read it likes rocks and attaching to other algae. It drifted over behind the prolifera and I want to get it away...

Looks like the naokoae is the first to start exploring. The Blue flasher is still hiding in his hole.

That's what I was thinking. But, I am a little worried about adding them so quickly. Parameters have been pretty stable NO3 0 and PO4 .03. But, It is a big volume of water, I have a big skimmer, and run a lot of carbon and gfo. Darn "buts" always complicating things. lol

Yes I couldn't resist adding sand. Seems every tank I think about going BB but end up adding sand. lol If I can get these guys to stay out longer than a few seconds I'll get a pic. I enticed them out last night with some live black worms and brine. But they only took a couple bites and then...

Also started the fug a few weeks ago. Macro is a little scarce at the moment. Hopefully when the water warms up they will be a larger selection around.
