My power went out this morning and the expensive antisiphon valve on the return did not work. Ive been told I can just drill a hole in the return pipe at the water line and this will break the siphon. How big should it be? Will water jet out the hole? I am in the process of bulding a spray bar or at least a second return down low and really dont need it draining the tank.

Thanks
Don

A 1/8th inch hole will normally do the trick. A hole that small won't make a huge jet of water come out during operation. Just take a toothpick or something and jam it in the hole every so often to make sure it is not clogged :)

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you tell me if its best to run a seperate pump for the spray bar?

If you can set up the spray bar on some kind of closed loop it would be the best, that way you never have to think about it.
