I want to conduct an experiment where I intentionally infected fish with Cryptocaryon (and only Cryptocaryon) to try some hobby-type, anecdotal cures. Do you have any tips or articles to a way to isolate Cryptocaryon from sick fish such that I would not also introduce other pathogens? Or better yet, a lab or facility that one could buy Cryptocaryon.

I did a scholar.google.com search (similar to pubmed.com, but I find it to be a bit more user friendly) and found a publication by Burgess and Matthews, 1994 in the Journal of Paristology which might be of some interest. While I would have to sneak over to the stacks to find it (PM me if you are really interested), they maintained it using mullet. Reading other journals describing their methods, it appears to be a bit involved and perhaps not what you are looking for.

I am trying to find a company that can supply them for you by digging through other methods. However, just through my initial, casual glance it appears that the demand is not there for the commercial production of these guys. I will do some more searches when I get a chance but perhaps this might get you somewhere...

And here is a thread discussing the same thing

I have actually met the Harry Dickerson with whom the thread concerns. His lab at the vet school in Athens might have cultures. I suppose it all depends on how serious you are about the study.
