I noticed my Button Coral this morning has three small "miniture" clones around the base of it. Has anyone had this happen to them before?

The coral seems very healthy and colorful as well, seems to be eating more than usual.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback.

The coral has gone through a lot over the past three years, with the transition from the 29G low light to the 75G "let there be light tank", but it is doing great.

They definately grow on you after awhile and are a nice balance to the SPS and other inhabitants.

I learned a tip about Zoanthids Growth. If you put colonies or frags close together they give off a chemical and they compete for valuable limited space and will grow at a much faster rate! Johnny :)

Good idea on the chemical competition observation. I'll give it a try on some of my other frags in a limited fashion and compare to a placebo group.

Why not as long as they don't show undue stress.

Thanks for the idea.
