Please join us in welcoming J. Charles Delbeek as our guest speaker this month. Charles first donned mask and fin at the tender age of 5, and progressed to SCUBA at 14. It was during that period that he began keeping marinelife. He aquired an Honours Specialist degree in Biology, a Master of Science degree in Zoology and a Bachelor's degree in Education all from the University of Toronto.

Charles has written numerous articles in scientific periodicals and hobbyist magazines as well as particpates in numerious speaking engagements at large events such as IMAC and MACNA.

Charles currently heads up the Waikiki coral research department. J. Charles Delbeek is the renowned co-author of The Reef Aquarium: A Comprehensive Guide to the Identification and Care of Tropical Marine Invertebrates Vol. 1 & 2.

This is sure to be a real treat to us all, I hope we can have a great turnout to listen to this wonderful speaker. This is a members only event. If you are currently not a member, you can join at the door for $20 or contact me prior to the event.

DIRECTIONS to Harbor Steps ( http://www.harborstepsconferencecenter.com ):
Landmarks
1. Directly across from the Seattle Art Museum on First Avenue in the Northeast Tower of the Harbor Steps complex.
2. Two blocks south of the Pike Place Market at First and University Parking

There is a parking garage directly below the Harbor Steps complex. Access to the garage is from Western Avenue.

You can also find metered parking , surface lots, and other garages in the area. These options are recommended for large vehicles (full size trucks and SUVs), as the Harbor Steps garage clearance is 6’6” and has several turns and pillars that may be difficult to navigate in a larger vehicle.

Driving Directions:

Traveling South on I-5 - take the Union Street exit (Union is a one-way street). Follow Union Street to Fourth Avenue. Turn right on Fourth Avenue. Turn left on Pine Street and proceed to First Avenue. Turn left onto First Avenue. Harbor Steps Conference Center will be four blocks south on your right at First and University (The Harbor Steps). Follow directions above to the parking garage. (NOTE: these directions are modified due to construction on Union Street).

Traveling North on I-5 - take the Madison Street exit. Turn left onto Madison St. and follow it down to First Avenue. Turn right and travel approximately three blocks. Harbor Steps Conference Center will be on your left at First and University. If you are parking in the Harbor Steps garage, do not turn onto First Avenue off of Madison. Instead, continue on Madison to Western Avenue and turn right onto Western. Continue for 2 ½ blocks to the parking garage, located between Seneca and University Streets.

If you did not receive an Evite and wish to join us, please let me know.

I think I may be in this time Chuck. I do have work, however, but we will see. If only meetings weren't on saturdays...no scratch that, if work weren't on saturdays.
