downtime and slowness today?

what's the deal with the site being slow quite a bit today? as well as there has been several times the site just timed out? server maintenance or what?

Yes ... server maintenance ... there is an announcement in each forum

woops - i use the View New Posts and that one didn't come up. I noticed it when I did go into a Forum though. Sorry about that.
