My question is this. Is it okay to have flow in a reef tank 24/7? I always have ran my powerheads all day and all night. My two clowns I added yesterday where swimming actively all night long as if try to fight the current. Should I set a timer so that I have calmer currents at night? Shut off two powerheads and just run one? Or will running them all the time be okay? I just don't want to cause any stress. Thanks in advance.

the question you have to ask yourself is 'does the ocean current shut down at night?' - i would think 'no'. they'll find a place to sleep at night. my clowns stay in their anemone curled up close to it so the flow doesn't blow them around. i also use a wave timer for flow so they get a lull in flow every few minutes. :)
