alright for a 200 gallon how many gph should flow through the sump? how big do the standpipes have to be to achieve this?

My personal preference is 6 to 10 times the tank volume, therefore for a 200 gallon tank, you would put 1200 to 2000 gph through the sump. You would need a couple of 1" standpipes for sure to get this flow, for the higher flow maybe 1 1/4" bulkheads. I am one that likes to keep the sump flow down a bit to reduce microbubbles, but the more you can get down and circulating the better. I assume the skimmer will be down there, so you will need at least the 6 to 10 times turnover through the sump to make it effective.
