Not really they came Dry, I had to rinse them forever, but now they are getting very purple like the rest, they seem to make great base rocks, I'll try and post pick up later when I get home!

They are quarry rocks so there really is no life, but lots of phosphates. They dont really cycle. You do have to keep cleaning and washing until the phosphates are gone. I gave up on 30lbs after 2 months. Ive heard of putting them in your toilet tanks for a few months so they get a fresh water constantly.

Yea, It took some heavy duty rinsing, I don't know too much about the high phosphates, I didn't have a test kits at the time but I didn't seem to have problems.

I'm sure its not all that bad, they sell alot of rock. You just dont know whats been leaching into the rock over the past few centuries.
