Looking for large supply of RO/DI water

Hey all,

I need to come up with 100 gallons of RO/DI water. The unit I purchased did not get shipped on time and the 50 gallons I had premixed has fallen away to a faulty barrel (good thing I never wanted to grow anything on that side of the house). Anyone have any ideas other than going to Safeway and paying $1 a gallon for the bottled stuff?

Has anyone tested the TDS of the Safeway water machines (.38 per gallon)? Has anyone tested the Seattle Aquarium water for copper and other not-so-nice-to-have features (.05 per gallon)?

Anyway I have 150 lbs of TBS live sand and 150 lbs of TBS live rock coming in tomorrow night and I have very little time to get enough water for changes...

Thanks,
Casey

your favorite LFS should have RO water for sale. Some people in this club swear by the Seattle Aq salt water. It has been very wet recently though, so be careful of the runoff...

I wouldnt do the public aquarium water at this time of the year, to much run off. You can always contact culligens or another water supplier that is simular. they will make you a good deal if you buy a bunch up front and will also drop it off and pick up the empties when done. I did this once for a 180 I was setting up.

I just started getting water from "water to go"... check out their website: http://www.watertogo.com/locations01.htm

I can't vouch for their water though, I just started using it and so far it is going great... Maybe some other people may have used them. They've got a massive system that they are supposedly on a very strict schedule for the filters...

Oops, am I allowed to post their website info?? Sorry... Not trying to advertise.. just trying to help out.

I buy my water from the Glacier water machines at Safeway, I've checked it randomly with a friends TDS meter and I've gotten 0 ppm several times and 2 ppm a few times. It is just RO water, no DI, but in my area (Lynnwood) it is drawing water off a water supply with already low TDS so it doesn't take much to polish it up.

The drawback is I don't think you would be able to get 100g in one trip, I don't think they hold more than 50g of water. During high usage the one near my house is out of water pretty often, and I've had it stop on me when trying to get 30g at once.

If your in Seattle I would try Aquarium Concepts, I think they sell RO water, or at least premixed saltwater if your setting up a new tank. They pump it out into your container of choice.

Saltwater City usually has about 500 gallons of RO water on stock with another 300 gallons of Premixed Instant Ocean water and then about 100 gallons of premixed tropic marin.
