I've always like the look of corals flourescing under just actinic lighting, but I have a quad tube with no option of just turning one color or the other on. I was just wondering if there is a small cheap light fixture out there that I can fit with just an actinic bulb so I might do this as well? ( I dont want to be buying a whole new large light/ballast setup just for this... cost is an issue)

thx much

I don't know what size tank you have but you can get actinic 13watt compact flourescent bulb that fit many shop light fixtures.

You can probably get the shop fixtures at a Target/Sears or something. I got one at Costco a few months back that lights up two 13w compacts with separate on/off switches for like $16.

A cool cheap option for actinics is the Helio t-5. Cost about $20 no ballast needed very compact 1" x ?length is all you need. Comes in length for most tanks.
Saltwater City has these.
