so is this the product you were recommending to me?

Warner Marine CalxMax

A two part balanced ion supplement for maintaining calcium and alkalinity. CalxMax will not disrupt ionic balance and will replenish salts lost due to protein skimming. Parts A & B are sold as one unit and equal amounts are used in conjunction with each other. 64 oz.

You might check Saltwater City in Bellevue as well. I seem to recall seeing WM products there at some point in the recent past. Not sure if they have the CalxMax or not.

saltwater city?

Salt Water City is still in business?! Amazing. Based on the decline I witnessed over a 2 year period I figured they would be gone long ago.

I bought a cheap shroom from them 1 week ago. It was my first time going to that store and I was not exactly pleased.

IMO they charge way too much money for thier frags and clams

i agree and i didn't think their tanks looked that good either. kinda dirty and not well put together. i bought some uncured rock from them so i got to go into the back. pretty messy back there as well.

ESV Bi-ionic is my method of dosing calc, and its a great 2 part product too.......

You can get (2) 1 GALLON containers of it (1 gallon each of part A and B) for only $32 through Marine Depot on-line and that includes shipping.

I like to support the LFS as much as I can, but when you've got a bigger tank, it doesn't make economic sense to buy the smaller bottles.

yeah i agree....i usually try to buy alot of stuff from online but as you mentioned i also support the LFS especially the ones that give discounts on our PSAS cards :) i drove out to Blue Sierra today. Very nice store....clean, well put together, lots of merchandise and friendly people. I picked up the CalxMax from WM for 25.00 bucks. Little more than online but well worth seeing the store and looking at their tanks.

The quality of livestock at Saltwater City really waxes and wanes. It will look pretty good one time, and another time it will look awful. I stop in there from time to time as it is closest to me, but haven't purchased anything, other than snails and gracilaria, from them in quite a while. I much prefer to drive to Aquarium Concepts for livestock. Blue Sierra is also pretty good, but they are pretty high priced as well, and their staffs saltwater knowledge varies from good to non-existent in my experience. Blue Sierra definitely has the best selection of drygoods in the area, IMO.

yeah i usually go to Aquarium Concepts. Chris and the rest of the employees are knowledgable. My visit to Blue Sierra today was my first trip there. I was definitely impressed with their store. I felt like it was the Wal-Mart of fish stores except for pricing! :)
